01 ASBESTOS REMOVAL

Done right.
Documented. Gone for good.

Found asbestos? You're not alone. Most homes built in Sydney before 1990 contain bonded asbestos somewhere. The good news is bonded asbestos, when handled by a licensed crew, is straightforward to remove safely. We do it every week.

ANA Demolition is fully licensed to remove and dispose of bonded asbestos sheeting in accordance with WHS Regulations 2011 and NSW EPA standards. We bring full PPE, decontamination procedures, sealed transport and approved disposal sites. The job's documented end to end so you have proof everything was done right.

Two types of asbestos license

It is important to choose an asbestos removal company with the right licensing for the job:

Class A

Permits the contractor to remove friable asbestos, which is the most dangerous type. Friable asbestos is dry and crumbly and releases fibres easily.

Class B

Allows for the removal of bonded asbestos only, which is more common in domestic settings. Bonded asbestos is mixed with cement and stays solid unless cut, drilled or broken. The ANA Demolition team is fully licensed for Class B removal.

03 FAQ

Asbestos removal.
Your questions answered.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Ring the office on 02 9620 5198.

How do I know if asbestos is present?
We can arrange testing and inspections to confirm. As a rule, if your house was built before 1990 there is a good chance asbestos is present somewhere. We send samples to a NATA accredited lab for testing.
Is asbestos dangerous?
Yes, if disturbed. The fibres are harmful when inhaled. That is why it must be handled by licensed professionals using proper PPE, isolation and disposal protocols. Left alone and undisturbed, bonded asbestos is generally stable.
Are you licensed?
Yes, fully licensed and compliant with regulations. ANA holds a Class B asbestos removal license for bonded asbestos. All work follows WHS Regulations 2011 and NSW EPA standards.
How is asbestos disposed of?
At approved EPA facilities following strict guidelines. The material is double-wrapped in heavy plastic, sealed, transported in licensed vehicles, and disposed of with a tracked receipt issued for your records.
Will this delay demolition?
It may add 1 to 3 days, but we manage the process efficiently. Asbestos removal is the first stage of any demolition, so the clearance cert is in hand before the excavator starts on the structure.
