01 PENRITH (2750)

A Penrith depot.
Local response.

Penrith is where ANA's second depot operates, at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Our local crew is stationed here, which keeps response times tight across the Penrith LGA, from the CBD out through Cranebrook, Werrington, St Marys, St Clair, Emu Plains and Glenmore Park.

The Penrith Valley copped major flooding in March 2021, March 2022 and July 2022. We are still demolishing flood-damaged homes for owners who chose not to rebuild on the same slab, particularly along the Nepean River through Castlereagh, Cranebrook and Emu Plains. Flood demolitions involve some extra disposal care, but otherwise run the same as standard residential work.

Beyond flood work, the main demolition driver is the knock-down rebuild. Older fibro homes from the 1950s and 60s line streets through Cambridge Park, Werrington and Kingswood, and most contain bonded asbestos. They are being replaced with larger contemporary builds. The newer estate suburbs (Glenmore Park, Jordan Springs, Caddens, Claremont Meadows) occasionally need demolition for major additions or amalgamated lots.

Penrith City Council CDC applications are managed by our team in-house, free of charge. We know the council officers and the inspection pace, which keeps approvals predictable.

03 FAQ

Penrith FAQ.
Local answers.

The questions we hear most from Penrith property owners. Got one not covered here? Ring the office on 02 9620 5198.

Do you demolish flood-affected homes in the Penrith Valley?
Yes. We have demolished a number of flood-damaged properties through Cranebrook, Castlereagh, Emu Plains and along Nepean Street. Flood-recovery work brings extra care on contaminated debris and disposal, but the demolition itself is straightforward. We also coordinate with insurance assessors where required.
Do you work right across the Penrith LGA?
Yes, from Penrith CBD out through Cranebrook, St Marys, Werrington, St Clair, Glenmore Park, Jordan Springs, Emu Plains, Mulgoa, Castlereagh and Llandilo. Our Penrith depot keeps response times short and equipment costs low across the whole valley.
How does Penrith Council compare for demolition CDC approvals?
Penrith Council is generally predictable. We typically see CDC approvals come through inside 10 to 14 days when the application is complete and the block has no complications. Heritage zones in Emu Plains and Mulgoa can need DA instead. We sort the right path before lodging.
Can you handle a knock-down in Glenmore Park or Jordan Springs?
Yes, though most homes in these newer estates are too new for full demolition. More commonly we run granny flat tear-downs, pool removals, slab removal for major additions, and occasional dual-occupancy site preparation.
Is asbestos common in older Penrith houses?
Yes. Most pre-1990 Penrith homes contain bonded asbestos somewhere, often in eaves, garage roofs, kitchen wet areas and external sheeting. Werrington, Cambridge Park and Cranebrook in particular have high asbestos rates in the original housing stock. We Class B remove as the first stage of every job.
