01 RICHMOND (2753)

Rural blocks.
Floodplain work.

Richmond and the surrounding Hawkesbury suburbs (North Richmond, Bowen Mountain, Kurmond, Kurrajong, Tennyson, Agnes Banks) are rural-residential. The blocks are larger, the housing is mixed with agricultural buildings, and the demolition work is varied. We cover the whole area.

The Hawkesbury Valley has been hit by serious floods in March 2021, March 2022 and July 2022. We are still demolishing flood-damaged homes along the river through Cornwallis, Pitt Town and Yarramundi for owners who chose not to rebuild on the same slab. Flood-recovery demolitions involve extra disposal care for flood-contaminated debris, but the demolition itself is straightforward.

RAAF Base Richmond sits in the area, which restricts some airspace and development around the perimeter. We know the no-build zones and the approach restrictions. Demolitions inside the buffer zone go ahead normally; we just do not do hot-work or crane work without checking timing.

The rural-residential character means a steady flow of agricultural shed removals, water tank demolitions, old stable clearances and outbuilding cleanouts on top of residential work. The bulk-out tends to require tipper semi-trailers given the volume. Hawkesbury City Council CDC applications are managed by our team free of charge.

03 FAQ

Richmond FAQ.
Local answers.

The questions we hear most from Richmond property owners. Got one not covered here? Ring the office on 02 9620 5198.

Do you demolish flood-affected properties along the Hawkesbury?
Yes. We have demolished a number of flood-damaged homes through Richmond, Pitt Town, Cornwallis and Yarramundi after the 2021 and 2022 floods. The work is straightforward demolition with extra attention to flood-contaminated debris and disposal. We coordinate with insurance assessors where required.
Can you remove agricultural sheds and farm buildings?
Yes. Agricultural infrastructure: hay sheds, machinery sheds, stables, hen houses, old dairies, water tanks, all part of our regular work in the Hawkesbury. Large blocks let us bring in bigger machinery, so the bulk-out is quick. We also remove old asbestos roof sheeting common on rural buildings.
Are there restrictions near RAAF Base Richmond?
Yes, around the airspace and approach corridors. The Hawkesbury City Council CDC process is unchanged, but for certain blocks near the base we coordinate timing of crane and high-machinery work with the base. Most residential demolitions do not trigger any RAAF Base liaison.
Do you handle large rural water tanks and tank stands?
Yes. Old concrete water tanks, steel tanks on timber or steel stands, and underground water tanks are all part of our rural demolition work. Some older steel tanks have asbestos sealing or asbestos pipe lagging, we Class B remove that under licensing.
What does a typical Hawkesbury rural block demolition involve?
Usually a main house, one or more outbuildings (shed, stable, dairy, hay shed), tank infrastructure, and sometimes old fencing or paddock structures. We quote it as one job with all-inclusive pricing. The bulk-out volumes are usually larger than urban demolitions, so we plan tipper trips accordingly.
