Industrial demolition is complex and difficult. That is why only properly equipped, properly insured demolition companies should handle the job. ANA Demolition has been successfully demolishing industrial buildings for over 25 years in and around Sydney and further afield in NSW.
The size and complexity of industrial demolition throws up many safety concerns that require a comprehensive strategy from the very start. We work with engineers, environmental consultants and council early, so the demolition plan is solid before the first excavator rolls onto site.
INDUSTRIAL SCALE / WESTERN SYDNEY
COMMERCIAL STRIP / STAGED WORKS
Every industrial demolition we run is site-specific. We prepare full demolition plans, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and traffic management where it matters. WHS Regulations 2011 is the floor, not the ceiling. We layer additional controls on top depending on the structure, the surroundings and the materials inside.
Plenty of commercial sites need to keep trading or operating in part of the building while another part comes down. We plan demolitions in stages, with hoarding, controlled access and dust mitigation that lets the rest of the business keep moving.
The size, complexity and safety concerns of an industrial demolition mean we treat each demolition as a unique project, with domestic housing demolitions requiring an entirely different strategy. Location and proximity to other structures must be taken into account. Partial demolitions may be needed to maintain structural facades or heritage structures.
The need to work surrounded by high-density public areas means management of traffic and pedestrian access must be strictly controlled to maintain public safety. Emissions, dust, vibrations and noise must also be mitigated to ensure surrounding businesses are not affected by the demolition.
The proper disposal of tons of potentially hazardous waste is something that must be planned and carefully carried out to ensure the safety of workers and the general public. We are fully licensed and insured to properly dispose of asbestos and other construction materials classified as hazardous, always in compliance with all state regulations and local council codes. We also practice the recycling of re-usable building materials as a standard part of our industrial demolition process.
